Mod 2 Indecomposable Orthogonal Invariants
Over an algebraically closed base field k of characteristic 2, the ring R of invariants is studied, G being the orthogonal group O(n) or the special orthogonal group SO(n) and acting naturally on the coordinate ring R of the m–fold direct sum k ⊕ · · · ⊕ k of the standard vector representation. It is proved for O(n) (n ≥ 2) and for SO(n) (n ≥ 3) that there exist m–linear invariants with m arbit...
متن کاملOn orthogonal invariants in characteristic 2
Working over an algebraically closed base field k of characteristic 2, the ring of invariants R is studied, where G is the orthogonal group O(n) or the special orthogonal group SO(n), acting naturally on the coordinate ring R of the m-fold direct sum k⊕ · · · ⊕ k of the standard vector representation. It is proved for O(2), O(3) = SO(3), SO(4), and O(4), that there exists an m-linear invariant ...
متن کاملLoop Space Homology Associated to the Mod 2 Dickson Invariants
The spaces BG2 and BDI(4) have the property that their mod 2 cohomology is given by the rank 3 and 4 Dickson invariants respectively. Associated with these spaces one has for q odd the classifying spaces of the finite groups BG2(q) and the exotic family of classifying spaces of 2-local finite groups BSol(q). In this article we compute the loop space homology of BG2(q) ∧ 2 and BSol(q) for all od...

متن کاملIndecomposable Invariants of Quivers for Dimension (2, . . . , 2) and Maximal Paths
An upper bound on degrees of elements of a minimal generating system for invariants of quivers of dimension (2,. .. , 2) is established over a field of arbitrary characteristic and its precision is estimated. The proof is based on the reduction to the problem of description of maximal paths satisfying the certain condition.
